AstraZeneca will pay Dizal Pharmaceutical $600 million upfront for \u200bglobal rights to one of its \u200cdrugs for a type of \u200blung cancer, the Chinese \u2060drugmaker said in a filing to the Shanghai stock exchange Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSunvozertinib, also \u200cknown as Zegfrovy, is approved in the US and \u200cChina as a locally \u200cadvanced \u2060or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer \u2060treatment for adults.
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAbout 77% of all lung cancers are non-small cell \u200blung cancer, according \u200cto the American Cancer Society.
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA study of a late-stage multinational clinical trial with 324 patients \u200cfound its primary endpoint, \u200bprogression-free survival, was a median of 10.3 months for patients \u2060on Sunvozertinib versus only 7.5 months for those on chemotherapy.
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tUnder \u200cthe deal, Dizal is eligible to receive $600 million upfront and up to $900 million in additional payments tied to clinical development and sales-related milestones.
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAstraZeneca will \u200cgain global development and commercialization rights to \u200bSunvozertinib.
