Witnesses are urged to come forward\"police<\/p>\n

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a stabbing on a busy shopping street in Woolwich<\/a>. He was knifed on Powis Street at around 8.10pm yesterday (July 18), the Metropolitan Police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and located the victim with a single stab wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life\u2011changing nor life\u2011threatening injuries, the force added.<\/p>\n

No one has been arrested in connection and enquiries remain ongoing to identify and locate the person responsible. Witnesses are urged to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

Photos taken at the scene show a cordon and heavy police presence at the junction of Powis Street and Greens End.<\/p>\n

The stabbing came less than an hour after a separate incident left a 37-year-old man fighting for his life in Balham<\/a>. Members of the public were force to chase an armed man away from the victim before help could arrive to Weir Road.<\/p>\n
