Sixteen rate it a Buy, four a Hold, and none a Sell.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Targets range from a low of roughly 1,100p to a high of 1,870p. That&#8217;s a big spread. So what could that mean for the next five months, if we scale those 12\u2011month views down to a Christmas horizon?  <\/p>\n<p>            Can it hit the top end by December?          <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Reaching the top end of analysts&#8217; targets in just over five months would need unusually strong momentum. Think upgraded guidance, a very strong interim results update, or a broader sector boost that lifts valuations across aerospace and defence.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">In a best\u2011case scenario where the stock hits the highest 12\u2011month target this year, the upside from current levels would be around 34%. Now that would be a decent Christmas present for shareholders!  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">But most targets are set over a full 12 months, not half that time. So how realistic is a 30%+ move in under six months?  <\/p>\n<p>        A more realistic outlook          <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Most price targets cluster in the mid\u20111,500s over the next year, not a sprint to 1,800p+ in half a year. That implies roughly 9% growth from here, which is still attractive but far more sobering than 30%+.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">The thing is, Rolls&#8217; valuation is now very high, with a price-to-book (P\/B) ratio around 43. That means investors are paying \u00a343 for every \u00a31 of net assets on the company&#8217;s balance sheet.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">So any earnings miss or operational complication could scare investors, and bring the share price tumbling back to earth. For example, if defence budgets are cut, or if flying hours slow, the aerospace giant&#8217;s profits would take a hit.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">For now however, the business is in a very strong financial position. In FY2025, group revenue was \u00a320.1bn, with growth across Civil Aerospace, Defence and Power Systems. Free cash flow was \u00a33.3bn, the net cash position improved to \u00a31.9bn, and pre\u2011tax profit reached \u00a36.94bn.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Management&#8217;s 2026 guidance targets underlying operating profit of \u00a34bn-\u00a34.2bn and free cash flow of \u00a33.6bn-\u00a33.8bn.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Key growth drivers include:  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Civil Aerospace: flying hours now above pre\u2011pandemic levels, boosting higher\u2011margin service, maintenance and overhaul revenue.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Defence: rising defence budgets supporting engines, naval power systems and support.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Power Systems: surging demand for power generation for data centres and infrastructure.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Small modular reactors (SMRs): new projects starting to contribute revenue and profit from 2026.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">With all that in place, the path to further gains looks clear. Enough for another 34% by Christmas? I&#8217;m sure shareholders would love that, but I wouldn&#8217;t hold my breath.  <\/p>\n<p>       Bottom line         <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">While Rolls\u2011Royce isn&#8217;t likely to deliver another 30%+ by Christmas, it&#8217;s definitely on track for further growth in the coming years. The bloated valuation is the obvious concern, but I&#8217;ve seen overvalued stocks in the past keep climbing for long periods.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">It really comes down to how persistent demand is, and if the growth drivers have genuine, long-term staying power.
