The group spoke out after a customer asked a question about emails they had received from the bank.<\/p>\n<p>The person asked over social media: &#8220;I keep getting emails saying I should change from the Halifax app to the Lloyds app, but my account is becoming a Bank of Scotland one.&#8221; Their question was: &#8220;Should I be using the Lloyds app, or is there a Bank of Scotland app I should be using?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Halifax customers <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\/personalfinance\/2228912\/halifax-shares-details-account-change\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">will be moving over<\/a> to become part of the Lloyds Bank group over the coming months. The Lloyds Banking Group already includes both Lloyds Bank and Halifax, as well as Bank of Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Gradual change<\/p>\n<p>Customers will be invited to move over in stages over the coming months. In response to the question, Halifax informed the customer: &#8220;You don&#8217;t need to do anything right now and can continue using your accounts as normal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The move to Lloyds will happen gradually, and we&#8217;ll contact you when it&#8217;s your turn.&#8221; Halifax also told the customer to expect a message from them soon.<\/p>\n<p>The savings provider said: &#8220;You&#8217;ll receive an invitation in the coming weeks with a few simple steps to start using the Lloyds app or Online Banking. Over time, your accounts will also transition across.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For now, there&#8217;s nothing you need to do.&#8221; The person asked the bank to clarify if they would use the Lloyds app in future even though they were changing to a Bank of Scotland account.<\/p>\n<p>In response to this, Halifax said: &#8220;If and when you&#8217;re invited to move, you&#8217;ll be asked to start using the Lloyds app or Online Banking. There isn&#8217;t a separate step for moving to a Bank of Scotland app.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Online guidance<\/p>\n<p>Guidance <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.halifax.co.uk\/brand-change.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on the Halifax website<\/a> about the change explains: &#8220;Over the next few months, we&#8217;ll be in touch to move you to the Lloyds app and online banking as we&#8217;ll be closing these for Halifax. They work in a similar way so should feel familiar and just as easy to use.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll send you an invitation in the app and online banking, so you\u2019ll know it\u2019s from us. It&#8217;ll guide you through the process in just a few easy steps, with no passwords or memorable details to set up.
