{"id":88906,"date":"2026-07-23T14:14:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T14:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/88906\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T14:14:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T14:14:12","slug":"bae-boeing-saab-sign-uk-next-gen-pilot-training-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/88906\/","title":{"rendered":"BAE, Boeing, Saab Sign UK Next-Gen Pilot Training Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BAE Systems, Boeing, and Saab have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baesystems.com\/en\/article\/bae-systems-boeing-and-saab-formalise-partnership-to-develop-uks-next-generation-pilot-training\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">signed<\/a> a teaming agreement to jointly offer a new pilot training system for the UK Royal Air Force (RAF), based on Boeing\u2019s T-7 advanced jet trainer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement includes plans to establish a final assembly and integration facility in the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the proposal, the project would support a domestic supply chain and give the UK greater control over the production and long-term support of its pilot training system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed training solution combines the T-7 trainer aircraft with advanced simulators to prepare pilots for frontline platforms such as the Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Martin F-35.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the companies, the system is designed to be updated over time to support future training requirements for combat aircraft, including sixth-generation platforms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement comes as <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/05\/06\/us-air-force-red-hawk-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the T-7A Red Hawk continues flight testing<\/a> with the US Air Force.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, the aircraft reached Milestone C, the US Department of Defense acquisition decision authorizing low-rate initial production, allowing the program to move from development into the first production phase.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith the T-7 as its foundation, our modern training system can help deliver sovereign pilot training solutions while supporting high-value jobs and industrial capability across the UK,\u201d stated Steve Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Defense, Space &amp; Security.<\/p>\n<p>Building on Earlier Cooperation<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The teaming agreement <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/11\/20\/boeing-saab-bae-uk-jet-trainer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">builds on an initial letter of intent<\/a> signed by the three companies in November 2025 to pursue the UK\u2019s future fast-jet training requirement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, the partners have been working to identify a location for the planned UK final assembly and integration facility and to establish a domestic industrial supply chain that would support the aircraft throughout its service life if selected by the RAF.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13;
