Next week, however, the capital\u2019s gallery ranks will lose one of its great unsung venues\u00a0\u2013 London Bridge\u2019s\u00a0Science Gallery is set to close.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since it opened in 2018,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/things-to-do\/science-gallery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Science Gallery<\/a>\u00a0has\u00a0been known for its innovative and exciting exhibitions.\u00a0Part of King\u2019s College London, its programme was shaped by a range of voices,\u00a0with researchers, artists and young locals all contributing to the works on display.\u00a0In its own words, Science Gallery was\u00a0designed to \u2018spark new ways of thinking about some of the most complex contemporary challenges\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Past exhibitions have explored everything from gender and dark matter to the future of food. Another highlight was \u2018Frequency\u2019 \u2013 an unusual installation where students and researchers created original sound pieces and performances inspired by their own biological rhythms.<\/p>\n<p>Science Gallery is permanently shutting its doors next week, on Friday July 31. The gallery team wrote that the closure \u2018reflects King\u2019s College London\u2019s refocusing of institutional resources towards its education, research and innovation priorities.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You do\u00a0still have a week to check out\u00a0Science\u00a0Gallery before it closes, though, and the final three exhibitions will be running until\u00a0the final day. Those shows are:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Art of Care: Through the Eyes of Tomorrow\u2019s Doctors\u00a0\u2013 student work about\u00a0care, community, and day-to-day life in clinics.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\nThreads of Protest\u00a0\u2013 crochet works\u00a0about inequality in maternity care, and advocating for better birth experiences.\u00a0\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\nA Thread that Binds Us\u00a0\u2013 two new works by textile and mixed media artist Amber Roper exploring intergenerational mental health.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Science Gallery London, Great Maze Pond, SE1 9GU.<\/p>\n<p>Get the latest and greatest from the Big Smoke \u2013 from news and reviews to events and trends.
