{"id":89699,"date":"2026-07-24T15:36:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T15:36:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/89699\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T15:36:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T15:36:07","slug":"nmite-and-bae-unveil-industry-led-rf-engineering-masters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/89699\/","title":{"rendered":"NMITE and BAE unveil industry-led RF engineering Master&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                  <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"645\" class=\" lazy\" alt=\"BAE Systems Tempest with loyal wingman drones\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-1000x700-1-e1784452232172.webp\"  data-\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Photo: BAE Systems<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/tag\/bae-systems\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"38\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BAE Systems <\/a>and the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE), based in Hereford, announced that they are launching a new Master of Science (MSc) degree programme in Radio Frequency (RF) and Wireless Systems Engineering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Radio Frequency technologies underpin satellite navigation, wireless communications, medical imaging, power grids, next-generation wireless networks, and a suite of other critical systems. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James Newby, President and CEO of NMITE, noted that the institute has already successfully launched its MEng in Autonomous Robotics degree in partnership with the British Army last December. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/nmite-graduates-find-jobs-in-local-aerospace-and-defence\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/nmite-graduates-find-jobs-in-local-aerospace-and-defence\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aerospace companies\u00a0like BAE Systems and Airbus are hiring NMITE graduates<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/New-Model-Institute-for-Technology-and-Engineering-NMITE-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE)\" class=\"wp-image-35861\"  \/>Photo: NMITE<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/nmite-and-british-army-to-launch-autonomous-systems-undergraduate-degree\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/nmite-and-british-army-to-launch-autonomous-systems-undergraduate-degree\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ADS Advance reported that the UK Armed Forces\u2019 new undergraduate degree<\/a> in Autonomous Systems is set to welcome its first students in September 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NMITE\u2019s Newby adds that the new degree \u201censures graduates are equipped to make an immediate impact across defence, communications, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and many other sectors that increasingly depend upon sophisticated wireless technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the new Master\u2019s programme, students will be directly engaging with practising engineers and receive exposure to \u201cgenuine technical challenges\u201d during the programme. <\/p>\n<p>Addressing a shortage of specialist engineers<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme is intended to address the critical shortage of specialist engineering skills in Britain. This will provide the initial investment needed to get the MSc off the ground. After that, BAE intends to continue supporting the programme with guest lectures, collaborative research, masterclasses, mentoring, and the like. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defence contractor notes that this poses a risk to national security, economic growth, and industrial resilience. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrea Thompson, Group Managing Director of BAE Systems\u2019 Digital Intelligence business, said: \u201cThis new programme addresses that shortage \u2013 helping to develop the next generation of engineers by combining academic teaching with practical industry experience to support the long-term capability and resilience of the UK\u2019s engineering ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NMITE\u2019s industry-led approach to engineering programmes<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NMITE announced in May 2026 that it had become a fully accelerated institution as it now only offers accelerated degrees.
