Crowds of pro-Iranian protesters gathered outside Downing Street to chant “Allahu Akbar” last night in an “emergency protest” against Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
Hours after the President threatened to wipe out Iran – but before he announced a ceasefire – activists descended on Westminster to vent.<\/p>\n
The demonstration was organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) <\/p>\n
A spokesman for the group previously labelled the now-dead Ayatollah Ali Khamenei a \u201cman of principle\u201d whose “legacy will be etched into history as someone who resisted oppression”.<\/p>\n
Ahead of Tuesday night’s “Hands Off Iran” protest, the group said Mr Trump had “made his genocidal intentions against the Iranian people clear”.<\/p>\n
It added: “Repeated bombings in the past week against Iran\u2019s civilian infrastructure are now followed by thinly veiled threats of nuclear attacks with the goal of complete annihilation of an entire civilisation.<\/p>\n
“We will not stay silent in face of this brazen criminality. <\/p>\n
“The UK Government must stop being complicit in war crimes and must immediately impose restrictions against the use of British military bases by American bombers.”<\/p>\n
The UK has only allowed its bases to be used for defensive US strikes.<\/p>\n
