His next of kin have been informed.<\/p>\n<p>As onlookers rushed to the injured motorcylist&#8217;s aid, another man &#8211; believed to have been in the Mercedes &#8211; was seen getting on the motorbike and riding off in the direction of Whitstable.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the public &#8211; including an off-duty doctor and nurse &#8211; gave CPR until paramedics arrived, with a defibrillator rushed over from Chestfield Golf Club. Police and paramedics continued the resuscitation efforts, but the young man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>At 9.50pm, an 18-year-old man voluntarily attended Canterbury police station and was arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in custody.
