Taunton woman to compete in national pageant competition<\/a><\/p>\nAfter holding the title of Mrs Somerset six times, Dionne secured the national crown last year and went on to place in the top five in the world at the international finals in Florida.<\/p>\n
As part of her prize package, she earned the opportunity to return to the global competition this year.<\/p>\n

Dionne said: “I am super excited to return to the international competition this year and be representing Great Britain.<\/p>\n
“For a moment I did not think I was going to be able to attend as I had an emergency appendectomy recently but thanks to the care of the local hospital, nurses and doctors my recovery has gone well and I get the chance to chase my dream again and hopefully make the country proud.”<\/p>\n
Away from the pageant world, Dionne works within a children’s occupational therapy team and is also a presenter on Apple FM, where she hosts the weekly 90s Heaven show every Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm.<\/p>\n
She is also an accomplished singer-songwriter who has featured on numerous dance music labels and performed across the UK and Europe, including appearances at the renowned Ministry of Sound in London.<\/p>\n
A passionate charity campaigner, Dionne serves as a BulliesOut charity ambassador and runs her own anti-bullying platform, Don’t Rain On My Sunshine, through which she supports projects raising awareness of bullying both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, she held a sold-out fundraising event that raised money for the charity.<\/p>\n

Following a late diagnosis of ADHD last year, Dionne has also focused on supporting others facing similar experiences.<\/p>\n
She now hosts a monthly ADHD support group at The Den Coffee House in Taunton and is launching a new women’s ADHD and menopause support group under her platform, A Life On Pause.<\/p>\n
Dionne said: “Supporting others who have had a late diagnosis and women going through a late diagnosis and menopause means the world to me as I know how challenging it can be.”<\/p>\n
Her charitable work has seen her raise more than \u00a313,000 for causes including The Christie, British Heart Foundation, St Margaret’s Hospice, and more.<\/p>\n
Each Easter, Dionne and her daughter deliver chocolate eggs to children receiving treatment at Musgrove Park Hospital.<\/p>\n
The pair also regularly support Taunton Open Door, collecting and donating clothing, footwear and essential items for homeless people, while Dionne also makes regular contributions to Taunton Foodbank and local charity shops.<\/p>\n
