She will oversee the execution of the bank\u2019s technology and operations strategy and support its priorities across India and South Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Kulkarni has more than two decades of leadership experience in banking, wealth management and technology. She has held senior roles at multinational financial institutions in India, the U.K. and the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining Standard Chartered, she was Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for private banking and wealth management at Barclays Bank, where she led global technology and operations teams and worked on the adoption of artificial intelligence across delivery cycles.<\/p>\n<p>Kulkarni holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science engineering from Karnataka University and an MBA in finance from New York University\u2019s Stern School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, <a href=\"https:\/\/in.linkedin.com\/in\/p-d-singh\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PD Singh<\/a>, CEO, India and South Asia, Standard Chartered, said, \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Kavita to Standard Chartered.
