A Green councillor in Deptford who described David Lammy and Priti Patel as \u201ccoconuts<\/a>\u201d on X is now advising wanted residents on how to avoid the police. Keeping busy\u2026<\/p>\n

Hau-Yu Tam is a councillor in Green-led Lewisham. Mayor Liam Shrivastava has pledged to twin it with a town in Palestine. It is also the first council in the UK to refuse to assist immigration enforcement efforts. Now councillors are going further\u2026<\/p>\n

Hau-Yu Tam reposted marked map of New Cross Road onto her Instagram story from an \u2018anti-raid\u2019 network which advised:<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice are using live facial recognition surveillance in Deptford today, on the high st. The surveillance van (see pic) is parked at the south\/bottom end by the Asda (red pin). Avoid the area if you can and warn others \u2013 if you can see the van, the cameras can see you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Met\u2019s biometric technology scans digital camera feeds and compares facial features against a specific watchlist of wanted individuals. As the dystopian saying goes \u2013 nothing to hide, nothing to fear\u2026<\/p>\n

The move cements the local Green Party\u2019s efforts to stymie law and order efforts. And comes after party leader Zack Polanski posted a photo of a T-shirt suggesting Nigel Farage should be beheaded by guillotine\u2026<\/p>\n

UPDATE: Chris Philp, Shadow Home Secretary, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Greens may not like live facial recognition, but we can recognise them for what they are. Lewisham deserves a council more interested in catching criminals than protecting them.<\/p>\n
