Free cash flow swung to a \u00a31.79 billion inflow, supported by significant customer advances, while order intake reached \u00a316.4 billion, lifting the company\u2019s record order backlog to \u00a384 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stronger-than-expected performance prompted BAE Systems to raise its full-year outlook. The company now expects:<\/p>\n<p>Sales growth of 8% to 10% (previously 7% to 9%)<\/p>\n<p>Underlying EBIT growth of 10% to 12% (previously 9% to 11%)<\/p>\n<p>Underlying EPS growth of 11% to 13% (previously 9% to 11%)<\/p>\n<p>Free cash flow of more than \u00a32 billion, up from previous guidance of more than \u00a31.3 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Woodburn: Global security environment continues to drive demand<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief Executive Charles Woodburn said the results reflected strong execution across the business and confidence in continued growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAcross the business, our outstanding teams have delivered another strong period of operational and financial performance, which gives us the confidence to upgrade our full year guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woodburn said the company continues investing to expand production and accelerate innovation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlongside our focus on meeting our customers\u2019 needs today, we continue to invest in our business to accelerate innovation, drive efficiencies and boost capacity, so we can get mission-critical capabilities into the hands of those who need them, faster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He highlighted new collaborative development of combat aircraft alongside investments in US manufacturing facilities to support increased missile production.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe global threat picture remains highly volatile, and governments are responding with sustained increases in their defence budgets. The combination of our proven execution, diverse geographic footprint and continued investment in our technology and facilities, alongside our healthy order backlog and growing opportunities across our markets, positions us to keep delivering long-term growth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Defence spending tailwinds strengthen outlook<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rising defence budgets across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific support BAE\u2019s long-term growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company sees strong opportunities across:<\/p>\n<p>Combat aircraft<\/p>\n<p>Missile defence<\/p>\n<p>Precision-guided munitions<\/p>\n<p>Autonomous systems and drones<\/p>\n<p>Space systems<\/p>\n<p>Nuclear submarines<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1785444357_562_baes-boeing-and-saab-release-2000px.jpg-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"Boeing\u2019s T-7 pilot training aircraft\" class=\"wp-image-35714\"  \/>Photo: BAE Systems <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its investor presentation highlighted the UK\u2019s planned increase in defence spending to 3.5% of GDP by 2035, proposed increases in the US defence budget and growing defence investment across Europe and Asia-Pacific.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Major programme milestones<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the first half, BAE secured or advanced several major programmes, including:<\/p>\n<p>Air and electronics lead growth<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every business sector delivered higher sales during the first six months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Air sector grew sales by 11% to \u00a34.9 billion, helped by increased Eurofighter Typhoon production and continued work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/uk-s-combat-air-flying-demonstrator-revealed\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"13804\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Future Combat Air System (FCAS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/RAF-Eurofighter-Typhoon-in-flight-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"RAF Eurofighter Typhoon in flight\" class=\"wp-image-35096\"  \/>Photo: RAF<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electronic Systems also expanded by 11% to \u00a33.9 billion, with its Space &amp; Mission Systems business growing by 29% as demand for military <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsadvance.co.uk\/space-news\/\" type=\"category\" id=\"5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">space<\/a> capabilities increased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Platforms &amp;
