The Masked Singer<\/a> is getting a huge shake-up with a new addition to the judging panel, only there\u2019s a massive twist.<\/p>\n

TV icon and national treasure Alan Carr<\/a> has joined Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan<\/a>, Maya Jama, and Jonathan Ross<\/a> for the next season of the competition show.<\/p>\n

However, he\u2019s not going to be any run-of-the-mill judge, instead, the chatty man will bring his own rival team to work as \u2018Wild Cards\u2019.<\/p>\n

His team will go head to head against the newly dubbed \u2018Legends\u2019 for the title of \u2018best detective\u2019 and, of course, bragging rights.<\/p>\n

Alan said: \u2018I can\u2019t wait to play detective \u2013 so excited to be shouting \u201ctake
it off\u201d in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home.\u2019<\/p>\n

He branded it a \u2018dream come true\u2019 to be joining the familiar faces as the ITV show heads into its eighth season.<\/p>\n

Joel Dommett<\/a> will also return to host the musical guessing game, which saw Sugababes<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0Keisha Buchanan<\/a>\u00a0take the crown<\/a>\u00a0after last season as Moth.<\/p>\n

Previous winners include McFly\u2019s Danny Jones,<\/a> West End star Samantha Barks, Busted\u2019s Charlie Simpson, and singers Joss Stone and Natalie Imbruglia.<\/p>\n

The first ever season aired in 2020, with Girls Aloud legend Nicola Roberts, who was dressed as Queen Bee.<\/p>\n

ITV<\/a> Director of Entertainment, Reality and Daytime, Katie Rawcliffe said: \u2018We are thrilled to welcome Alan Carr to The Masked Singer. <\/p>\n

\u2018His wit and energy are the perfect addition to our new \u201crival panel\u201d and we can\u2019t wait for viewers to see the sparks fly.\u2019<\/p>\n

Alan has long been a staple of British TV but his stint on Celebrity Traitors has reignited the public\u2019s love for him.<\/p>\n

His treacherous time in the castle meant the Chatty Man worked with Jonathan Ross<\/a>, who will now be his rival on Masked Singer.<\/p>\n

The Masked Singer UK is set to return in January 2027, with filming reportedly beginning in autumn. <\/p>\n

All previous seasons are available to watch on ITVX<\/a> now.<\/p>\n
