Nigel Farage has said he has an \u2018open mind\u2019 towards a potential election deal with Rupert Lowe\u2019s Restore Britain. <\/p>\n
A couple of months ago, there\u2019s little doubt that both Farage and Lowe would have shot down talk of an electoral pact immediately<\/p>\n
But as Reform fall behind Andy Burnham\u2019s Labour in the polls and continue to be dogged by controversy after controversy<\/a>, it seems an element of desperation might already be seeping into the mind of Farage. <\/p>\n Ever since his controversial exit from Reform in March last year, it\u2019s safe to say Lowe and Farage haven\u2019t been on speaking terms. <\/p>\n Lowe went on to set up the hard-right, Elon Musk-backed Restore Britain<\/a> and has repeatedly criticised Reform<\/a>. <\/p>\n But it seems two weeks of Burnham as prime minister is all it has taken for Lowe and Farage to start considering an electoral pact. <\/p>\n READ NEXT: \u2018The BBC hate us!\u2019 \u2013 Reform UK throw strop after scrutiny on small boats policy<\/a><\/p>\n Over the weekend, Lowe posted a 12-minute video in which he seemed to suggest he was open to working with Farage and Reform again. <\/p>\n Rupert Lowe offers Nigel Farage a pact.<\/p>\n Restore Britain and Reform UK have split the right-wing vote in recent by-elections, as well as in the Greater Manchester mayoral race.<\/p>\n It would appear Lowe wants to work with Farage once again to unify Britain\u2019s right. pic.twitter.com\/I0bVwq1LbL<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 PoliticsJOE (@PoliticsJOE_UK) August 2, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n Now, Farage hasn\u2019t shot down the idea. <\/p>\n During a press conference on Monday, Farage was asked about Lowe\u2019s video in which he called for greater cooperation between the right-wing parties.<\/p>\n After questioning Lowe\u2019s manner of going about things, Farage confirmed he had reached out to his former rival about the proposal. <\/p>\n Farage said he was prepared to make electoral \u201csacrifices if I believe it\u2019s in the national interest,\u201d adding he would do \u201cwhatever I could to have a sane, centre right alliance that beat Labour.\u201d<\/p>\n Although he said he does \u201cnot ditch my friends\u201d, Farage conceded there could be a situation where Restore Britain \u201ccould do us great harm.\u201d<\/p>\n He concluded: \u201cIf it was the offer of a deal, it came in a very unusual way.
