We treasure your feedback and insights. \u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AstraZeneca stock fell as investors balked at reports of merger talks\u00a0with Bristol Myers Squibb\u00a0about forming what would become one of \u200bthe world\u2019s biggest drugmakers, with a combined value of nearly $400 billion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/astrazeneca-shares-tumble-7-after-reported-bristol-myers-talks-2026-08-03\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/astrazeneca-shares-tumble-7-after-reported-bristol-myers-talks-2026-08-03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Reuters<\/a> explains. Shares in AstraZeneca were down 5.5% so far on Monday as \u200cinvestors and analysts noted the U.K.\u2019s biggest drugmaker had little obvious need for a transformative acquisition despite potential financial benefits. Meanwhile, Bristol Myers shares were up about 5% in U.S. premarket trading. Jefferies analyst Michael Leuchten wrote in an investor note that a deal \u201cwould be more than a head scratcher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amgen disclosed that hackers stole company data and patient health information in a \u200bcybersecurity incident involving cloud storage systems run by third-party \u200cproviders, becoming the latest health care firm to disclose a breach, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/amgen-discloses-data-breach-says-patient-information-was-stolen-2026-07-31\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/amgen-discloses-data-breach-says-patient-information-was-stolen-2026-07-31\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Reuters<\/a> writes. On July 29, Amgen determined the incident was material, based on its evaluation of how \u200bmany files appeared to be affected and the possibility that \u200bthe information in those files could be sensitive, according to a regulatory filing.
