{"id":96809,"date":"2026-08-04T03:26:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T03:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/96809\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T03:26:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T03:26:20","slug":"how-the-iran-war-will-determine-britains-economic-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/96809\/","title":{"rendered":"How the Iran War Will Determine Britain&#8217;s Economic Growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Iran war could \u201chalt growth\u201d in the UK economy as the success of Andy Burnham and John Healey\u2019s economic management largely hinges on President Trump\u2019s decision-making, a City firm has warned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Big Four consultancy EY has said that the UK economy could perform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityam.com\/uk-economy-jumped-above-forecasts-before-iran-war\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">better<\/a> than first expected this year as its growth forecast was revised up to 0.9 per cent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But economists at the firm said baseline forecasts hinged on the opening up of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing around a fifth of global oil and gas supplies as well as critical goods to leave the Gulf region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EY analysts said \u201cprolonged energy price disruption may halt growth in 2027\u201d.
