\n AlixPartners, the administrator of collapsed bridging lender Market Financial Solutions, has filed a legal claim against Barclays over \u00a3160m worth of accounts. <\/p>\n

AlixPartners filed a claim to the High Court against Barclays on Friday, stating the bank was holding cash it believed was owed to the bridging lender. <\/p>\n

Barclays is understood to be defending the claim.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In its Q1 results, Barclays reported an impairment charge of \u00a3823m, primarily due to a \u00a3228m charge in the investment bank linked to Market Financial Solutions\u2019 failure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

AlixPartners was appointed to manage Market Financial Solutions\u2019 accounts earlier this year, when the lender\u2019s administration<\/a> was announced\u00a0surrounded\u00a0by allegations of financial irregularities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) subsequently announced it had opened an investigation<\/a> into the bridging lender\u00a0to\u00a0determine\u00a0whether there was any serious misconduct.\u00a0<\/p>\n
