{"id":98283,"date":"2026-08-06T03:25:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T03:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/98283\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T03:25:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T03:25:20","slug":"richard-tice-fumes-at-bbc-for-talking-to-his-constituents-and-no-one-can-work-out-why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/98283\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard Tice fumes at BBC for talking to his constituents and no one can work out why"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Richard Tice has accused the BBC of \u201cbias and hate\u201d against him after the broadcaster went to his constituency and spoke to people. <\/p>\n<p>This week, it was announced that Tice would be investigated by the parliamentary standards watchdog for failing to declare an interest when talking about Israel in a Westminster Hall debate.<\/p>\n<p>Tice spoke in a Commons debate on June 22 about Israeli influence but did not mention that he had been on a trip to Israel in September 2025, funded by a pro-Israel lobbying group.<\/p>\n<p>The trip has been listed in Richard Tice\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/members.parliament.uk\/member\/5161\/registeredinterests?categoryId=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Declaration of Members\u2019 Interests.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, it\u2019s safe to say Reform\u2019s deputy leader hasn\u2019t responded too well to this news, claiming it\u2019s an example of the \u2018establishment\u2019 trying to take down his party. <\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelondoneconomic.com\/politics\/reforms-laila-cunningham-reminded-about-basics-of-international-law-by-victoria-derbyshire-408446\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reform\u2019s Laila Cunningham reminded about basics of international law by Victoria Derbyshire<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Really, this is in fact another example of Reform believing they should not receive the same scrutiny that every other party and politician does. <\/p>\n<p>Along with criticising the investigation, Tice has also taken aim at the BBC \u2013 but it\u2019s difficult to see what he\u2019s angry about. <\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday evening, the Boston and Skegness MP shared a piece from BBC Look North in which a journalist went to Tice\u2019s consituency to ask people there if the investigation into their MP had affected their view of him. <\/p>\n<p>There was no attempt to doorstop Tice and the overwhelming majority of response were positive about the politician, with most saying they weren\u2019t bothered by the parliamentary standards investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Tice has flown off the handle about the segment. <\/p>\n<p>In a post on X, he said: \u201c[The] BBC hate Reform &amp; me so much, they sent camera crew today to my constituency post absurd investigation news yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooked for voters who have turned against me, couldn\u2019t find any.<\/p>\n<p>Why should we pay licence fee for their bias &amp; hate,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BBC hate Reform &amp; me so much, they sent camera crew today to my constituency post absurd investigation news yesterday<\/p>\n<p>Looked for voters who have turned against me<\/p>\n<p>Couldn\u2019t find any \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7\ud83e\ude75\ud83e\ude75<\/p>\n<p>Why should we pay licence fee for their bias &amp; hate ? <\/p>\n<p>BBC needs reform <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i4SkaAWtLn\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/i4SkaAWtLn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Richard Tice MP \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 (@TiceRichard) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TiceRichard\/status\/2084746922032513430?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">August 4, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a statement to Look North, Tice outrageously claimed the BBC were on a \u201cpolitically-motivated smear campaign to discredit me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the piece was \u201cclearly aimed at continuing that campaign,\u201d before outrageously claiming \u201crapists and murderers get more privacy and legal protection than the BBC have afforded me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tice added that his lawyers \u201care in touch with the BBC legal team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to Tice\u2019s rage, many couldn\u2019t work out what he was angry about.
