A driver has died following a collision involving multiple vehicles in a Leicestershire village.<\/p>\n

Leicestershire Police<\/a> was called at around 6.24am this morning (Wednesday, August 5) to a report of a collision on the A426 Rugby Road, between Lutterworth Road island and Gibbet Hill in Cotesbach, near Lutterworth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collision involved a blue Nissan Micra and a white HGV.<\/p>\n

Officers said the driver of the Micra was pronounced dead at the scene and that the HGV driver was not injured.<\/p>\n

At the time of the collision, the Micra was travelling towards Lutterworth <\/a>while the HGV was travelling in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Kasie McMahon, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, is appealing for witnesses.<\/p>\n

She said: “We would like to appeal to anyone who saw the collision, the vehicles beforehand or the circumstances leading up to it to please get in touch.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who may also have dashcam footage which captured anything relating to the collision is also asked to make contact,” she added.<\/p>\n
