{"id":990,"date":"2026-03-30T12:57:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T12:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/990\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T12:57:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T12:57:12","slug":"apple-subsidiary-fined-390k-for-russian-sanctions-breaches-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/990\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple subsidiary fined \u00a3390K for Russian sanctions breaches \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain\u2019s sanctions watchdog <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/media\/69ca1da04321776215360a1c\/ADI_Public_Penalty_Notice.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">has fined<\/a> a subsidiary of Apple \u00a3390,000 for payments it made to a Russian streaming platform.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Distribution International (ADI) \u2014 a subsidiary used by Apple to pay developers on the App Store \u2014 sent two payments worth over \u00a3635,000 to Okko, a Russian streaming platform, in June and July 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Okko was previously owned by Sberbank, Russia\u2019s largest bank, until May 2022, when it was sold to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdd.org\/analysis\/2022\/05\/27\/top-russian-bank-launches-apparent-attempt-to-evade-sanctions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">an \u201cobscure\u201d Russian company<\/a> which was created two months before, alleged to be an attempt to shield it from sanctions.
