{"id":99277,"date":"2026-08-07T14:39:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T14:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/99277\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T14:39:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T14:39:08","slug":"gbe-n-publishes-commercial-pipeline-with-estimated-value-of-up-to-4-6bn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/99277\/","title":{"rendered":"GBE-N publishes commercial pipeline with estimated value of up to \u00a34.6bn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Great British Energy \u2013 Nuclear (GBE-N) has published a commercial pipeline of activities with an estimated total value of up to \u00a34.6bn.<\/p>\n<p>The pipeline was published on the body\u2019s website on 4 August with a short description which says it \u201cprovides a forward look of potential commercial activity\u201d within (GBE-N).<\/p>\n<p>The document lists 14 contracts including \u201cSMR (small modular reactor) delivery partner\u201d, \u201cmain works\u201d, \u201cearly works\u201d and \u201cspecialist scope\u201d for marine off-loading facility (Molf).<\/p>\n<p>The SMR delivery partner contract has an estimated value of \u00a31.09bn and is seeking a delivery partner to \u201cprovide project management and integration to the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project, including all sub-projects\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The description continues: \u201cThe delivery partner will provide co-ordination, project controls, programme management and efficiency, interface management, integration, management of project baselines (including change control) throughout the project delivery lifecycle, and foster collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation across the project and supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne delivery partner will be appointed for the SMR project to work alongside the relevant technology partner for the deployment of their SMR technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next largest contract is \u201cmain works\u201d, which is valued at \u00a3910M to \u00a31.82bn, with an estimated procurement start date of Q1 2029.<\/p>\n<p>The description of the contract says \u201cthis main works package refers to the principal phase of construction where the core assets, structures, and systems of the project are delivered\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It goes on to state that activities will include the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) stage 4 technical design for, and delivery of major civils, structural construction, building systems installation, full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) integration, site security establishment and operations throughout the construction phase, on-site parking, workshops, hardstanding, roads and the infrastructure works enabling the power plant build. Design to end of Ribs 3 is assumed to have been delivered by the EP (engineering partner).<\/p>\n<p>Another contract of high value is for \u201cEarly Works \u2013 Civils, Infrastructure, Buildings &amp; MEP and Earthworks\u201d, with an estimated value of \u00a3730M to \u00a31.1bn and covers \u201ckey enabling activities required to prepare the site for main construction\u201d. The estimated procurement start date is March 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The package includes \u201cthe design (from Riba 4 Stage) and delivery of ground-related enabling activities required to prepare the site for construction, including species relocation, remediation services, site clearance, site establishment, construction utilities, and supporting infrastructure\u2014such as drainage and haul roads to support bulk earthworks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, these early works establish correct ground levels, and create safe access routes for subsequent phases, and will provide the foundational physical platform needed to de\u2011risk, mobilise, and accelerate the main works programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGBE-N had previously considered splitting these packages into two, but has decided to consolidate into one package to minimise interface risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The nuclear body added a caveat that \u201cthe positions and timelines presented are based on current information and assumptions.
