Air Canada’s inaugural Montreal-Berlin flight took off this morning, launching tri-weekly service between the two cities.
Flights will depart Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the seasonal service wraps on 05SEP26. Return flights will depart Berlin Brandenburg Airport on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The route is serviced by the carrier’s newly acquired Airbus A321XLR, the only long-haul single-aisle aircraft with lie-flat seating options and the cornerstone of the airline’s new “Glowing Hearted” design revamp.
“This route is much more than a new flight. It strengthens the connection between Germany and Canada, creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, investment, and cultural exchange,” Rocky Lo, Air Canada’s managing director of international sales, wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“This launch also reflects Air Canada’s continued commitment to Germany and our strong partnership with our transatlantic joint venture partners Lufthansa Group and United Airlines, providing customers with extensive connectivity across Europe and North America,” he said.
Lo noted that travellers departing from Berlin would benefit from US customs preclearance in Montreal, allowing them to “connect seamlessly” to more than 50 American destinations.
