Jollibee’s 10th anniversary in Canada became more than a corporate milestone as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited the Filipino fast-food chain’s Granville store in Vancouver on July 3, highlighting the growing role of Philippine businesses in strengthening economic and cultural ties between the Philippines and Canada.
The visit formed part of President Marcos’ official trip to Canada, where he is advancing strategic cooperation in trade, investment, labor, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

For Jollibee, the occasion underscored how a homegrown Philippine brand has evolved into a global business with a growing presence in international markets. Since opening its first Canadian store a decade ago, the company has expanded its footprint while introducing Filipino flavors to an increasingly diverse customer base.
Beyond serving the Filipino diaspora, Jollibee has steadily attracted Canadian consumers, reflecting the broader international appeal of Filipino cuisine and the competitiveness of Philippine brands in the global marketplace.
The visit by the two leaders also highlighted the role of private enterprise in complementing economic diplomacy. As Philippine companies continue to expand overseas, they contribute not only to investment and employment but also to promoting the country’s products, culture, and entrepreneurial capabilities on the world stage.
Jollibee said its Canadian operations have helped bring Philippine-made products to more global markets while creating employment opportunities and sharing Filipino hospitality with communities across Canada.
The stop at Jollibee complemented the broader objectives of President Marcos’ visit, which seeks to deepen Philippines–Canada cooperation across trade, investment, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
As one of the Philippines’ most recognizable global brands, Jollibee’s decade-long presence in Canada reflects the growing confidence of Filipino companies to compete internationally while serving as ambassadors of Philippine enterprise abroad.
