A private plane suffered a landing accident at the Longueuil airport on Thursday, requiring the intervention of emergency services and disrupting commercial flights for a few hours.
The Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET) reported an “incident involving a private aircraft during a landing maneuver.” The MET spokesman said that the only person on board was transported to a hospital and that there are no fears for his life.
The fire departments of the airport and the agglomeration of Longueuil “quickly intervened,” the Met said late Thursday afternoon, later specifying that the runway was reopened and that all airport operations could resume.
Flights had been delayed due to the temporary closure of the runway. The MET stated that it was cooperating fully with the competent authorities.
“The required inspections and verifications having been completed, airport security is fully restored and all airport operations can resume in safe conditions,” the Met said Thursday evening in a written statement.
