Calgary Police Service are asking the public for help in locating an 11-year-old boy who went missing from his day home in Cambrian Heights Thursday afternoon.
According to police, Parker was last seen in the 0 to 100 block of Connaught Drive N.W. sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 a.m. Around noon, police say, officers found clothing believed to be Parker’s in the 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive N.W.
Parker is described as four-foot-11 and roughly 90 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen shirtless and wearing grey shorts, black Sketcher shoes and black noise-cancelling headphones.
During a Friday afternoon press conference, Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson confirmed that Parker is autistic and non-verbal, functioning between a two and three-year old level. He added that Parker likes water and that the Calgary Fire Department has been searching Nose Creek, which parallels the community of Thorncliffe.
Because of how long Parker has been missing, Staff Sgt. Guterson said police are now seeking tips from all across Calgary. He added that he is fairly confident Parker did not go on Calgary Transit, as operators have been aware of the situation since day one.
“I would not put a radius on a search area. It’s likely that he’s close to Thorncliffe, but that level of likelihood is impossible for us to put a number on,” he said. “Which is why we’re asking for everyone in the city to have a look at their property.”

There is no evidence of foul play, which affects how Calgarians have been informed. Staff Sgt. Guterson said that by law, CPS cannot enact an Amber Alert for non-abduction cases.
“Because we have no evidence whatsoever to suggest that there’s another person involved, that has precluded us from using an Amber Alert,” he said.
He recommended that Calgarians use the MCSC rescu website, a database put together by the Missing Children’s Society of Canada. It allows users to see all current missing children in Canada and alerts can be enabled for when a child goes missing in the area, no matter the circumstances.
Police are continuing their search efforts in the northwest communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, Greenview Industrial Park and Nose Hill Park.
Several search teams may be seen in these communities, including the air support unit, canine unit and mounted patrol team. Police are asking the public not to disturb any of the members while working.
CPS also said not to approach Parker if spotted and instead contact police immediately, as he can become agitated when approached by strangers according to Staff Sgt. Guterson.
Staff Sgt. Guterson said that over 200 officers and more than 70 search and rescue volunteers have been involved in the efforts, and will continue until Parker is located.
“We’re going to keep searching until we find him, night or day. The investigation will not stop until he is found,” he said.
Police are asking that all Calgarians check backyards, garages, sheds, under decks or any other areas that a child may hide in. Police are also asking anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of Parker to submit it online to assist in the search efforts.
