Calgary police and a team of volunteers continued to search northwestern Calgary on Friday for an 11-year-old boy who went missing from his day home a day earlier.

The 11-year-old Parker (no last name provided) was last seen on Thursday at his day home in the Cambrian Heights neighbourhood, sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 am, police said.
He is described as 4-foot-11 and about 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he was last seen shirtless, wearing grey shorts, black Sketchers and black noise cancelling headphones.
Around noon on Thursday, officers found clothing believed to belong to Parker in the cities 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive NW.
Police say Parker has a medical condition and both officers and his family are worried about his safety. His family says Parker is autistic and nonverbal and that he is likely frightened. The family says the headphones may mean he cannot hear people calling his name.
By Friday, police had widened their search to several nearby communities, including Thorncliffe, North Haven, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview and Nose Hill Park.

Officers asked residents in those areas to check their garages, backyards, sheds and under their decks, where a child might try to hide or take shelter. Police also asked anyone with CCTV or dashcam video to come forward.
Officers, volunteers and a canine unit are taking part in the search, police said. Residents may also see an air support unit, a mounted patrol team and a mountain bike unit in the areas.
“If you see Parker, do not approach him,” police said. “Instead, keep your distance and contact police immediately.” Police also asked people not to interrupt search teams while they work.
Police say there is nothing to indicate foul play and the case does not meet the threshold for an Amber Alert. Because of that, Calgary police have issued it’s request for help through the Missing Children Society of Canada, which put out a Child Search Alert.
The alert covers Alberta. Residents across the province, including in southern Alberta, can register for Child Search Alerts through the society. The search has focused on northwest Calgary since Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The case number is CA26318270/3916.
