Everything indicates the young forward’s time in Montreal has come to an end.
We all knew it was inevitable, but for those who were still hoping to see young Alexander Zharovsky sign in Montreal and begin the season with the Canadiens, it now appears that possibility can be put to rest.
Everything indicates that Zharovsky officially packed his bags and left Montreal over the past few hours to return home and prepare for the start of his KHL season.
He reportedly already took part in a charity game in Europe.
The forward spent several weeks in the city this summer, here in Montreal, but it now appears that chapter has come to an end.
He notably participated in the Canadiens’ development camp.
The young forward even played in an LSHL game last week.
But all signs point to Zharovsky’s Montreal adventure being over (for this summer).
He may even already be back home by now.
Alexander Zharovsky’s Montreal visit should ease his eventual Canadiens transition
In one sense, it’s unfortunate to see him leave, but his departure was expected.
The young forward remains under contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa for one more season in the KHL.
His return to North America will therefore have to wait until the end of the 2026-27 season, barring any unexpected developments.
That said, the positive side of this visit should not be overlooked.
Zharovsky had the opportunity to experience Montreal and become familiar with the city where he could soon settle permanently.
He now knows the Canadiens’ facilities in Brossard. That kind of familiarity makes the transition much easier when the time comes to sign.
When Zharovsky returns for good, he won’t be arriving in unfamiliar territory, and that’s a valuable advantage.
