What could be more Vancouver than an event that brings together running, yoga and live music?
The three will be featured front and centre during the upcoming Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon and its followup Sunset Festival celebration in Stanley Park.
Add in a headlining set from DJ John Summit, who has built a global career performing at ski hills and other athletic competitions, and you’ve got a great day in and around the park. Better yet, it’s a chance to put your latest athleisure wear through the paces and see how well it performs during the 21.1-km course.
This year’s race is expected to draw more than 10,000 runners, according to Kara Schlosser, VP of North America Community at Lulemon.
“With participants from 24 countries, SeaWheeze is bringing together a truly global community through movement, connection, and celebration,” Schlosser said in a news release. “It’s especially inspiring that nearly half of participants will be running their first half marathon and have chosen SeaWheeze to mark that milestone.”
The course takes runners through some of the city’s favourite areas, including oceanside views, and some of the most iconic neighbourhoods. The route is available online at seawheeze.com.
