The 24th annual Tour De Bowness looked a little different this year.
The usual hill climb was replaced with the Canadian Road Masters Championship (athletes 35 and older) road race.
The event drew athletes from across the country to Calgary last weekend.
The weekend-long bike race, which attracts hundreds of cyclists from across the country, involves three different races: the Time Trial, which took place north of Cochrane on Saturday; the road race, which happened on Sunday in Rocky View County near Old Banff Coach Road; and the iconic criterium races, which took over the streets of Bowness on the holiday Monday.
The Tour De Bowness combines both competitive road cycling with a lively street festival.
This year’s street festival featured music, dancing and dozens of vendors and food trucks.
