Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to three separate structure fires early Wednesday, with no injuries reported in any of the blazes.
The first fire was reported just before 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Geraldine Drive. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house, using an aerial ladder to spray water from above. All occupants had safely self-evacuated before crews arrived, and firefighters declared the fire under control at 3:45 a.m.
A second fire broke shortly after 5 a.m. in a duplex in the 100 block of Lake Village Road. Firefighters helped occupants get out of the building before bringing the blaze under control at 5:28 a.m.
The third fire was reported around 7:23 a.m. in a house in the 1600 block of Ross Avenue West. Crews found heavy black smoke coming from the house and attacked the fire with an offensive strategy while other crews worked to protect nearby buildings from fire spread. The fire was declared under control at 8:54 a.m.
All three fires remain under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.
