Canadian business travel to the US is bouncing back, according to Corporate Traveler.
The Flight Centre Group travel management company told Open Jaw its latest data analysis shows a 12.7% year-over-year rebound in flight bookings from April through June.
Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver continue to anchor Canada’s outbound corporate travel, sending the highest volume of business flyers south. On the US side, New York, Chicago and Las Vegas remain the top destinations as they are a mix of financial hubs, commercial centres and high‑density meeting markets.
Corporate Traveler USA president John Van den Heuvel said the renewed activity reflects a shift in business confidence.
“After a period of uncertainty, it’s encouraging to see Canadian businesses once again prioritizing travel to the US, reflecting the importance of the business relationship between the two countries.” he said in a statement to Open Jaw.
“Companies are finding ways to navigate a complex cross-border economic landscape and get back on the road to meet with customers, suppliers and prospective clients in person, using business travel to drive continued growth.”
The surge marks a large reversal from last year’s slump and underscores how small and medium enterprises are re‑engaging in cross‑border travel, despite lingering economic and policy tension.
