The search continues for a 15-year-old Montreal girl who was last seen Monday evening in Rivière-des-Prairies, as her family and the Missing Children’s Network appeal to the public for information that could help locate her.
Sofia Sama was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Samuel-Morse soccer field in Rivière-des-Prairies, according to information released by her family.
The family says Sama may have subsequently been seen near the Henri-Bourassa Metro station between approximately 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.
At the request of the family, the Missing Children’s Network is assisting with the public appeal and asking anyone who may have seen Sama or who was in either area Monday evening to come forward.
Sama is described as 5 foot 7 inches tall and approximately 170 pounds, with blue eyes and long, light brown hair.
She was last seen wearing her soccer uniform — a grey top bearing the number 17 on the back and black shorts — along with pink Nike soccer cleats. She may also have been wearing a black top and white or pink Crocs.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) advises that missing child cases should be reported to police immediately. Investigators typically gather information about where the child was last seen, what they were wearing, and other details that could help determine their whereabouts.
Police can also circulate information to other police services when a missing child may have travelled outside Montreal.
The circumstances surrounding Sama’s disappearance have not been publicly detailed.
Her family is urging anyone who may have seen her Monday evening — particularly around the Samuel-Morse soccer field or Henri-Bourassa Metro station — to report what they know, even if the information seems minor.
Anyone who sees Sama or has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police. In an emergency, the SPVM says to call 911.

The family is also asking the public to share her photograph and missing-person appeal widely in hopes that someone will recognize her and help bring her home safely.
