First Canadian Graphite (TSX-V:FCI) plans expanded airborne surveys and fall drilling to test the scale of its Zone 13 graphite discovery at the Lac Guéret South Project in Québec, Canada.
The company has confirmed ‘high-grade’ graphite mineralisation along approximately 3.3km of strike and across widths exceeding 150m at Zone 13. Importantly, 46 samples returned assays up to 43.4% graphitic carbon.
Zone 13 has emerged as the company’s highest‑priority target following the discovery of ‘high-grade’ graphite mineralisation associated with an extensive electromagnetic anomaly.
First Canadian Graphite has engaged Prospectair to undertake supplementary magnetic‑electromagnetic coverage across the Boudrias‑Esbec option and surrounding Zone 13. The expanded survey will establish whether the conductive system continues beyond the currently mapped area.
Several conductors that the original 2026 airborne survey identified extend to or are cut off by survey boundaries, prompting the expanded program. Prospectair confirms the survey will begin in late August or early September.
The company has delivered four 20kg samples to Corem in Québec City for preliminary metallurgical testing. The samples include material from Zone 13, the historical Esbec Graphite Showing, and Zone 6.
CEO John LaGourgue says the significance of Zone 13 is increasingly about the combination of grade and potential scale.
“We have confirmed high-grade graphite at surface along approximately 3.3 kilometres of strike, while portions of the conductive system extend beyond the limits of our original airborne survey,” LaGourgue notes.
Lac Guéret South already hosts a historical NI 43‑101 mineral resource at Zone 1 of 1.76 million tonnes (Mt) indicated grading 17% graphitic carbon and 1.53Mt inferred grading 16.40% graphitic carbon.
FCI is advancing Zone 13 through expanded airborne surveys, ground prospecting, metallurgical testing, trenching, and diamond drilling.
