Officials are warning drivers to expect major slowdowns on bridges this weekend as The Samuel-De Champlain Bridge is closed toward the South Shore for repaving work.
Highway 15 south is closed as of the Turcot Interchange from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, though access will be maintained for traffic from Atwater Ave. to Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. and from Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. to Nuns’ Island. Traffic to Nuns’ Island from the Bonaventure Expressway will need to detour via Gaétan-Laberge.
The ramp from Highway 20 east to Highway 15 north will also be closed during this time.
To mitigate the traffic disruption, the Victoria Bridge will be open toward the South Shore all weekend, and closed toward Montreal.
The REM is not affected by the closing.
A similar closing of northbound lanes on the bridge is scheduled for next weekend.
REM
The Réseau express métropolitain will open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday between Gare Centrale and Deux-Montagnes and Anse-à-l’Orme, as planned work continues. The Brossard branch will open at its usual 5:30 a.m., and the whole network should open at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Highway 20
In Boucherville, the highway is closed westbound at Montarville Blvd. from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Detour will be via the exit and following entrance. Montarville Blvd. is closed southbound between de Touraine Rd. and the entrance to Highway 20.
Highway 25/Souligny Ave.
Souligny will be closed westbound above Highway 25 from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. on Aug. 27.
The ramp from Highway 25 south to Souligny west (toward downtown) will be closed from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
Souligny will be closed eastbound from Dickson St. to Honoré-Beaugrand St. from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Route 136
One lane is closed on the westbound exit for Mansfield St., until Aug. 28.
Brossard
The Sun Life Half Marathon will require closing parts of Rome Blvd., Pelletier Blvd. and Sorbonne Ave. from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Other local streets will be restricted to local traffic, while police will manage traffic on Marie-Victorin Blvd. at Rome and Matte Blvds. to allow waves of runners to pass through. The bike path from the Champlain Bridge will also be closed during this event, and residents are encouraged to avoid bike paths in the area.
Métro
With the Vans Warped Tour at Jean-Drapeau Park this weekend, bicycles and pets will not be allowed on the Yellow Line after 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

South Shore bus changes
Starting Monday, a new intermunicipal express bus line run by the Réseau de transport de Longueuil begins service on the South Shore, linking the Longueuil—Université-de-Sherbrooke métro station, Panama REM station and bus terminuses in La Prairie, Candiac and Delson along Taschereau Blvd.
The 901 Taschereau line, the first of the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain’s BUS+ program, will run every 10 minutes during rush hours (eastbound during the morning and westbound in the afternoon on weekdays), every 20 minutes during the day on weekdays, every 30 minutes weeknights and weekends days, and every hour weekend evenings.
Note a Zone C fare is required to ride the bus west of Brossard.
Also Monday, the RTL is reforming its bus network in the RST-MNO sector of Brossard, with six routes changing and five being abolished, while RTL on demand service will be extended to 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day and add additional sectors.
Exo is also making several changes to bus routes in the Richelain/Rousillon sector as of Monday to coincide with the new 901 bus, including the cancellation of bus routes 458, 650 and 651, which currently run along Taschereau Blvd.
New fall bus schedules will also take effect Saturday in Laval and Monday on the Exo’s North Shore routes.
Continuing disruptions
Victoria Bridge: The eastern lane remains closed until Sept. 10. All traffic is on the western lane of the bridge, with traffic toward Montreal allowed between midnight and noon, and traffic toward the South Shore between noon and midnight.
Highway 13: In Laval, the southbound lanes are closed for renovation work until the fall between Ste-Rose Blvd. and Highway 440. Southbound traffic is rerouted to the service road, and during the morning rush hour (4-11 a.m.), a contraflow lane will be open on the northbound side for southbound traffic. Additional lanes will be closed overnights during the summer.
Highway 15: Repaving work has begun on the Laurentian Autoroute between Highway 40 and the Médéric-Martin Bridge to Laval, which will involve overnight and weekend lane closings until the end of 2027.
Highway 15 (Brossard): Repaving work is taking place on the southbound side of Highway 15 between the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge and the St-Jacques River. The work will continue until the fall and will involve weekend and overnight closings.
Highway 40 (Repentigny): Traffic disruptions can be expected because of repaving work. The Transport Ministry says the work will be done at night to minimize disruptions.
Highway 40 (St-Cuthbert): Lanes are narrowed after a sinkhole was discovered in the roadway. Westbound traffic has been diverted to the eastbound side, with lanes only four metres wide in each direction.
Route 340 (Vaudreuil-Dorion): In Vaudreuil-Dorion, Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd. is closed in both directions until the end of October, between de la Gare Blvd. and Jean-Béliveau St. A new roundabout at de la Gare Blvd. is now partially in service. The overpass of Route 340 over Highway 30 is partly closed until November.
Highway 520: The entrance from Roméo-Vachon Blvd. south (from the airport toward Highway 20 west) is closed through Nov. 11.
Jean-Talon St.: Work on building the Blue Line métro extension means parts of Jean-Talon St. are closed. Affected buses (in particular 141, 188 and 372) are detoured onto Bélanger and Everett Sts. to avoid those areas, and a temporary shuttle bus (No. 814) has been established along Jean-Talon and Bélanger Sts.
Ste-Catherine St. (Ville-Marie): Major work on the street and underground infrastructure means it is closed at various points between St-Mathieu and Peel Sts. Crossing streets are also blocked. Guy St. is closed at Ste-Catherine St.
Berri St. (Ville-Marie): Major work at the Berri-UQAM métro station has resulted in Berri St. being closed between Ste-Catherine and Ontario Sts., and de Maisonneuve Blvd. being closed between St-Denis and St-Hubert Sts. until November 2027. Traffic is detoured via St-Hubert, Atateken, St-Urbain or Ontario Sts., or René-Lévesque Blvd., while cyclists are being diverted to Atateken and Ontario Sts. Pie-IX Blvd. (Mercier—Hochelaga-Maisonneuve): Work to extend the SRB Pie-IX south means only one lane is open in each direction between Pierre-de-Coubertin Ave. and Notre-Dame St. Crossing streets are open.
St-Urbain St. (Ville-Marie): The overpass over the Ville-Marie Expressway is closed for a long renovation until the end of 2026. Pedestrian access is maintained.
