Construction is underway on the southeast segment of the Green Line LRT, with visible progress along the route. Bridges and elevated guideways are taking shape, and work on stations is coming next. Nine new LRT stations will be built between Shepard (near 130 Avenue SE) and Ramsay/Inglewood, serving communities including Ogden, Lynnwood/Millican, Quarry Park, and Douglas Glen. Station design is now complete. Contracts for station construction are expected to be awarded later in 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027, subject to contractors’ schedules.
The new stations will look different from many of Calgary Transit’s existing stations. The Green Line will use low-floor trains, which allow for simpler, more accessible station designs that fit better into surrounding communities. This means stations will be smaller and more open than some of the large LRT stations Calgarians may be familiar with. Each station will include canopies for weather protection, heated shelters, bike racks, and improved walking and wheeling connections.
