Two people have been rushed to hospital after a pair of crashes in Brampton where vehicles struck cyclists, and both happened just moments apart.

One of the crashes happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the area of Dixie Road and North Park Drive in Brampton, Peel Regional Police say.

An adult male cyclist was struck by a vehicle and rushed to hospital with injuries police called serious, while a spokesperson for Peel Regional Paramedics said the injuries were non-life threatening. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene, police say.

Investigators are on the scene and have closed northbound Dixie Road at Northampton Street, while southbound Dixie Road has been shuttered at Northcliffe Street.

Peel police say drivers in the area can expect delays, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes.

The crash happened within moments of another cyclist-involved collision on Winston Churchill Boulevard in Brampton, Peel paramedics say.

One adult female was transported to hospital from the scene, paramedics say, while police told INsauga.com that no road closures were required.
