Noomi Rapace plays veteran FBI agent Susan Tarheel pursuing a suicidal Inuit man who unwittingly punctures an oil pipeline with a rifle shot and makes himself a most-wanted fugitive terrorist in an exclusive clip for the cat-and-mouse thriller In Alaska.
The indie to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival also stars newcomer Leo Mathew Temela as Woody, a 17 year-old forced on the run in the Alaskan bush as Tarheel follows in pursuit. As the most-wanted terrorist becomes increasingly desperate to avoid capture, Tarheel is conflicted by her alpha hunting instinct as a veteran detective and a sudden maternal need to help a vulnerable young man vanishing into the wilds across the Canadian border.

As Tarheel gets closer to her prey, a strange bond begins to grow between two damaged souls as Woody also reconnects with his Inuit cultural roots. The coming-of-age drama directed by Jaap van Heusden and Vinnie Karetak is produced by IJswater Films and Experimental Forest Films and Uuktumiaq Studios as a Canada-The Netherlands co-production.
Besides The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Rapace, the ensemble cast for In Alaska includes Miali Buscemi, Zorga Qaunaq, Yin Wang and Joanassie Aupaluk. Marc Bary and Tyler Hagan are producing, with Niv Fichman executive producing the film that shot in British Columbia.
In Alaska will world premiere on Sept. 11 at the Toronto Film Festival, which will run this year from Sept. 10 to 20. WTFilms is handling international sales at TIFF. Elevation Pictures has the Canadian releasing rights, while Gusto Entertainment will release the indie drama in the Benelux.
