ROBERT MYRON BAYDAK
With heavy hearts, the family announces the unexpected passing of Bob Baydak.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara; daughter Kristen (Tom); brother Larry (Mardi); brother-in-law Bruce Young (Diane); nieces and nephew, Cynthia (Durwin), Kimberly, Collin (Jen), Lara (Steve); grandnieces and grandnephews, Briana (Alex), Aidan, Layla and Miles; uncle Lawrence (Nettie) and many beloved cousins.
He was predeceased by parents, Nick Baydak and Rose (Chuckree) and many aunts, uncles and cousins who were very dear to him.
Having to start out not speaking the language at school made him a strong individual who excelled at school. He went on to teach where he enjoyed a long career in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division. Bob ran extra-curricular events; he ran a school’s canteen, coached sports and even taught summer school. The long hours were worth it as he met and married the love of his life, Barbara, a fellow teacher, and almost 10 years later they were joined by their daughter, Kristen. After retiring from teaching, he went to work at The Winnipeg Free Press call center, to learn how to sell. From there he went on to sell cars, something he had always wanted to do. He worked for a number of years at Car Canada, Birchwood and the Dilawri Group, making many friends along the way.
As Barbara’s family moved east, he spent every summer driving his family to visit where they had some great and memorable times together.
He always made sure to keep in touch with his friends, special neighbors and family as they were all important to him. We will cherish his fun and bad jokes and his care and love for us all.

There will be a Funeral Service held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
