Edmonton police are asking the public for information and video footage following a shooting in northeast Edmonton last year.
On March 30, 2025, police responded after an adult male attended a medical facility with a gunshot wound. Investigators say the man told police he had been sleeping at his home near 34 Street and Abbottsfield Road when he awoke around 5:40 a.m. with an unknown injury. He sustained a non-life-threatening injury.
“This resident has no criminal involvement, and his residence is not known to police,” says Det. Andrew Furman with the EPS investigations response team. “This incident emphasizes the inherent danger to innocent bystanders when shootings take place, and we are grateful that his injuries were not more severe or fatal.”
Police say they have exhausted available investigative avenues to date and are now turning to the public for assistance. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area, or driving nearby at the time, to review any available security or dash cam footage for the time period of 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. on March 30, 2025.
