Montreal police are seeking possible additional victims of Daniel Rochefort, a 72-year-old lawyer who is already facing sex-related charges involving a minor.
Rochefort was arrested on May 7 and charged with producing child sexual abuse and exploitation material as well as making sexually explicit material available to a child.
He was handed additional charges on Monday, including sexual interference, sexual assault and invitation to sexual touching, all involving a minor.
Those acts were allegedly committed between January 2007 and January 2012. All charges appear to involve a single alleged victim.
Police issued a release Wednesday saying that investigators have reason to believe that Rochefort may have had other victims between 2007 and 2026.
Investigators allege Rochefort used social media platforms, specifically Instagram and Snapchat, to contact minors using the pseudonyms dannyrock16752 and dannyrock201721.
Rochefort founded Rochefort & Associates in 1996, a firm specializing in labour and administrative law.
He has represented several police officers, including former police chief Philippe Pichet.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the police’s sexual assault investigation unit at 514-280-8502.
