On April 22, 1984, Neyra’s body was found along the Rivière Richelieu in Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu. He was the victim of homicide, and it is likely that his body was disposed of there.

Neyra, an immigrant from Peru, arrived in Canada in June 1982. He was unemployed.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Giovanni Redana: On Aug. 17, 1991, the body of Giovanni Redana, who was then 50 years old, was found in a field near an abandoned farm building on Racine Road in Bromont. He was the victim of a shooting death. Redana was last seen alive four days prior to the day his body was discovered.

He was at his home on Lajeunesse Street in Montreal. He was a mechanic and worked for many years at a garage in LaSalle. The investigation shows that Giovanni Renda had a problem with drug use.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Chantal Tremblay: On July 29, 1977, Chantal Tremblay, age 16, left her home in Rosemère at around 5:00 p.m. to take a Laval public transit bus that was scheduled to leave at 5:30 p.m.

Chantal was to meet her sister at Terminus de l’Est in Montreal and then take a bus to Québec. Chantal was seen for the last time when she got off the bus at Terminus Henri-Bourassa in Montreal. She was reported missing later that evening.

Almost two years later, on April 21, 1979, two boys who were walking in a wooded area owned by the Department of National Defence in Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne discovered human bones on a hill. Analyses were conducted and it was determined they were the remains of Chantal Tremblay.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Gilles Giguère: On April 28, 1996, around 10:45 a.m., a truck driver travelling oL’Épiphanie saw a man’s body lying in a water-filled ditch.

The victim was Gilles Giguère. He had been reported missing on April 27, 1996 by his spouse, who had seen him leave their residence in Pointe-aux-Trembles the previous day around 8:45 p.m.

Gilles Giguère was involved with the Hells Angels and the motive for the crime was probably a settling of accounts.

On Oct. 9, 1972, after work, he went back to his home in the town of Prévost in the Laurentians. When he arrived home, he was shot with a firearm. He was found in front of his home the next morning around 9 a.m. by one of his neighbours.

The suspect(s) fled the scene with the victim’s car, an Oldsmobile Tornado 1968, that was found the next day in Saint-Hyppolyte.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Denise Bazinet: On Oct. 24, 1977, the body of the victim, Denise Bazinet, was found by passersby in an isolated area along Highway 35, near Route 10 in Carignan. She left home around 9 p.m. on Oct. 23, 1977, and was last seen on Oct. 24 around 1:30 a.m. in a Montreal establishment with a man. She was known to frequent the Bar Au Bout du Quai and Nu Way restaurant on Papineau Avenue.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Denise Picard: On Aug. 10, 1967, 17-year-old Denise Picard and Suzanne Gilbert were found dead in a cottage at Anse à Pierre-Jean in Saint-Simon-de-Rimouski. The two teenage girls lived in Montreal.

He spent the evening with 8-year-old Sebastien Métivier, who also disappeared the same day. On Dec. 2, 1984, Lubin’s body was discovered on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River on Ile Charron (Longueuil). He was the victim of a murder. Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Gérald Morton: On April 1, 1990, a cyclist found a body in an advanced state of decomposition in a field near Highway 15 ssouth in Verdun. The victim’s face was covered by a piece of cloth. The body was on its back, and its face showed signs of violence. It was a man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing at most 120 pounds.

He wore grey sweatpants, a blue track jacket, and a blue-and-red wool sweater. Near the body was a backpack containing cards for a contest held by Birks jewelry store, the victim’s employer. No ID was found on the body.

Around April 15, 1990, after the case was covered by the media, the victim was identified as Gérald Morton, who was reported missing on October 20, 1989 in Montréal.

The body was identified as that of Anthony Collin Williams.

Anthony Collin Williams had been reported missing by his mother on Feb. 24, 2011. He was 38 years old at the time. He was seen for the last time at Bar Le Starter in Lasalle, around midnight, on Feb. 20, 2011.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Mélanie Temperton: Mélanie Temperton was reported missing on September 21, 1988. She was last seen at the Motel Métro, located on rue Lajeunesse in Montreal, where she rented a room using her credit card. During her stay in Montréal, she reportedly met with friends in various locations.

Temperton, 20 years old, was reported missing from her mother’s home in Mascouche, and has not been seen since.

Labelle was seen alive for the last time on June 19, 1986 at around 11:00 p.m., in Montréal at the Café Rialto.

During the evening, the group left the Vieux Munich on foot to go to another bar, La Calèche. Jocelyne Houle, who was walking apart from the group with two men, never arrived.

Her body was found by a passerby three days later in a ditch in Saint-Calixte.

The victim was last seen alive at 2 a.m. the same day at the Brassade brewery located at the corner of Papineau and Ontario streets in Montreal. The investigation shows that this is a homicide.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Johanne Marsolais: Johanne Marsolais was 28 years old at the time of her death on Nov. 18, 1987. Her body was found on a farm road perpendicular to Lapinière Blvd., near the municipal golf course in Brossard.

After taking a taxi at the Berri-UQAM metro station in Montreal in the evening of Nov. 18, 1987 around 10 p.m., she was last seen alive at the bar Le Bic in Longueuil around 10:30 p.m. The victim used the alias France Tremblay.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal François Robillard: On March 24, 2010, François Robillard, age 57, disappeared from Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport in Montreal after returning to Canada. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance suggest that he may have been murdered. Robillard was reported missing by his family in July 2010.

On March 11, 1972, following an anonymous call, the police found the victim’s body in the same Oldsmobile that was abandoned under the highway, facing 2651 Metropolitan Blvd.

The victim had reportedly left his residence in Châteauguay on Oct. 8, 1982. His vehicle was found on Oct. 22, 1982 in the parking lot of the K-Mart shopping centre in LaSalle. The investigation revealed that it was a homicide.

Landry was an insurance broker for the company Dollard Lussier Ltée 1978 and was supposed to meet with clients.

On Oct. 7, 1986, two people out for a walk found the victim on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Repentigny. Landry had been savagely beaten and left there.

The investigation revealed that the suspect(s) knew the victim.

Landry led a double life. He had a family, but also attended gay bars and had been an active member of the gay community in downtown Montreal for a few years.

The investigation and autopsy proved that André Allard was the victim of a murder.

He had been seen the evening before in Montreal. The murder of the young father could be linked to the underworld.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Esther MacLennan: On June 15, 1974, Esther MacLennan spent the evening at the German Canadian Social Centre (“Bavarian” club) on Crémazie Street in Montreal. At around 3:30 a.m., on June 16, she left alone, walking on Crémazie Street heading westbound. This 40-year-old teacher was never seen alive again after that moment. She was reported missing two days after by a co-worker. Her lifeless body was found on June 20, 1974.

Her vehicle, a 1974 Ford Mustang, was found abandoned in a parking lot at the corner of Pie IX and Jean-Talon in Montreal.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Peter Harry Nadeau: On Aug. 11, 1985, Peter Harry Nadeau, age 36, left his home in Montreal to go to the Laurentians. On Aug. 18, 1985, the victim was found on the side of the ditch along chemin du Moulin, in front of Lac le Bouthillier in Sainte-Adèle. The investigation revealed that the victim was of American nationality, had been living in Québec for three years and was murdered.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Antonio Di Francesco: On Dec. 16, 1975, an anonymous call was made to the Delson police department regarding the discovery of an unidentified body found in a ditch on Sainte-Catherine Street in Saint-Constant. Police officers discovered the body of a man who presented signs of violence.

A witness confirmed seeing individuals near a car the night before and hearing gun shots coming from where they were standing.

The investigation led to the identification of the victim, Antonio Di Francesco, a 24-year-old man from Montreal (Ville-Émard), known to be involved in drug trafficking as well as loan sharking. He was a victim of an account settlement related to organized crime, according to police.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Stanley Sydor: Stanley Sydor arrived at the Bordeaux prison in May 1972. During his short stay of eight days for unpaid tickets, he was beaten, and was even found unconscious in his cell.

Sydor was treated for his injuries and completed his sentence. Once released, his condition deteriorated and he had to return to the hospital, where he died a few hours later. The taxi driver by trade allegedly died from the injuries he suffered a few days earlier in prison.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Mario Ritchie: On Aug. 26, 1985, Mario Ritchie, aged 21 at the time, was found dead in a wooded area of Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon. His body showed marks of violence. He was last seen the day before with a few childhood friends at a bar in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, then at the restaurant Venise Pizzeria where he left alone.

Mario Ritchie lived in Montreal and worked for two years as a labourer at the Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine Hospital.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Gérald Lapierre: On Jan. 16, 1980, the body of a man completely frozen and fully dressed was found by police officers patrolling in Saint-Janvier. Gérald Lapierre, a man in his fifties, had been shot and killed.

The victim used to go to various bars in Montreal, including the Barachais. The last person who saw the victim alive was a waitress at that bar.

The investigation shows that this is a homicide.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Lorraine Keogh: Around 3:30 A.M. on April 3, 1990, Lorraine Keogh and a 33-year-old man’s bodies were found along Highway 13 in Laval. They were murdered.

Both victims left a Verdun residence the day before at 5:30 PM and went to Colibri’s motel on St-Jacques’s Street in Montreal. They also went to O’Leary’s bar on the same street during this night.

A few months later, on June 3, 1992, her body was found on the shore of the St. Lawrence, at the turning basin near the Côte Sainte-Catherine lock. The autopsy revealed that Sassoon had been murdered.

The investigation showed that, from 1991 until her disappearance, she worked in LaSalle but had no fixed address. She appears to have lived for a time in an apartment located on Gravel St. in LaSalle.

Sassoon was last seen in late November 1991 at the Motel Colibri in Montreal.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Françoise Guilbault-Varin: On May 30, 1973, Françoise Guilbault-Varin left her home on Précieux Sang road in Joliette. She left a note to her husband to take care of the children and then bought a bus ticket to Montreal. Her disappearance was reported on June 1, 1973 by her husband. She was spotted on Dec. 27, 1973, at the Eaton store in Montreal by an acquaintance of hers. Since then, she was never seen or heard from again.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Jocelyne Beaudoin: This case concerns the disappearance of two young Montreal women, age 20 and 23, who left for a vacation in Lac-Saint-Jean on July 4, 1976. Jocelyne Beaudoin was accompanied by her friend Renée Lessard. They had planned to hitchhike and sleep in campgrounds. They were last seen alive on July 12, 1976, when they stayed at motel d’Amour in Rivière-du-Loup.

They were reported missing by their respective families on Aug. 2, 1976.

On Oct. 3, 1976, around 1 p.m., the body of a woman was found in a wooded area on rang du Coteau in Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur. It was the body of Jocelyne Beaudoin, age 20.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Renée Lessard: This case concerns the disappearance of two young Montréal women, age 20 and 23, who left for a vacation in Lac-Saint-Jean on July 4, 1976.

Renée Lessard was accompanied by her friend Jocelyne Beaudoin. They had planned to hitchhike and sleep in campgrounds. They were last seen alive on July 12, 1976, when they stayed at motel d’Amour in Rivière-du-Loup.

They were reported missing by their respective families on August 2, 1976.

The body of Renée Lessard was found by chance by passers-by who had stopped in Parc de La Vérendrye for a picnic. Some clothes were found. The bones were scattered over a rather large area, having likely been moved by animals. No jewelry or ID was found. The young woman was not formally identified until June 2018.

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Fritz Dieujuste: On March 21, 1991, around midnight, shots were heard coming from the parking lot located under the Ville-Marie Expressway in Montreal. A few minutes later, the victim, a young man by the name of Fritz Dieujuste, was found under the access road, lying on the ground. When the first witnesses arrived, Dieujuste was not dead, but unconscious. He was taken to the Montreal General Hospital, where he later died.

At the intersection of boulevard Saint-Michel and boulevard Henri-Bourassa, Teresa left her friends to take a transfer. Around 3 a.m., her body was found in a sitting position in the parking lot of the Vieux Cyprès tavern, on boulevard Henri-Bourassa. The young victim had been carefully placed there by the suspect(s).

Unsolved and cold cases in Montreal Claude Aubut: On May 25, 1982, Claude Aubut, 28, was reported missing to the Montreal Police Department. The brown 1974 Ford LTD vehicle he was using was discovered a few days before his disappearance.

On Oct. 10, 1982, in the Lanaudière region, hikers in the forest discovered the body of Claude Aubut. The investigation shows that he was the victim of a murder and had links with organized crime.
