Kelowna International Airport
Passengers travelling between Ottawa to Kelowna now have the option of flying non-stop with Porter Airlines.
Porter, which has been expanding its presence in British Columbia, made its inaugural round-trip flight between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Kelowna International Airport (YLW) this week. The service will operate five times a week, increasing to six flights in June.
“Expanding our presence in Kelowna strengthens our Western Canada network and reinforces our commitment to connecting travellers across the country,” said Andrew Pierce, Porter’s vice president of network planning and reporting.
“By enhancing connectivity between the west and the east, we’re opening up more convenient, reliable options for Canadians to travel where they want to go,” he said.
The carrier said this route will complement existing Toronto Pearson flights servicing Vancouver and Victoria. Flights will operate on the new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, noted for having the lowest fuel consumption per seat, per trip in its class.
