Tesla is looking to kick off the sunny season by bringing local communities straight into its showrooms. Over the weekend, the automaker began sending out email invitations to owners and enthusiasts across North America, announcing a brand-new series of community gatherings. Dubbed the “Electric Summer” celebration, these events are designed to be family-friendly open houses hosted at multiple retail stores across both the U.S. and Canada.
According to details posted on Tesla’s official event page, the localized parties are scheduled to take place over two upcoming Saturdays: May 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026. Tesla is encouraging current owners to bring guests, introducing prospective buyers to the brand in a relaxed atmosphere rather than a high-pressure sales environment.

Fun, Gifts, and Demo Drives
Tesla is positioning these gatherings as an educational and entertaining weekend outing for entire families. The main draw for many will be the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest vehicles or check out Tesla’s most advanced autonomous driving software up close.
“Join us at our Electric Summer party at select Tesla locations near you. Bring along your family and enjoy fun activities, receive a gift, and experience Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on a demo drive,” the official invitation reads. Tesla also notes that attendees can “meet with our team of advisors who can tell you everything about Tesla ownership.” Space is limited across participating showrooms, so those interested will need to RSVP early. The company also points out that the complimentary gifts are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Experiencing the Latest FSD Branch
The inclusion of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) demo drives is a strategic move, especially considering the rapid velocity of Tesla’s recent software deployments. Tesla notes on its portal that the technology “requires active driver supervision and does not make Tesla vehicles autonomous,” but the actual capability of the fleet has taken major steps forward over the last few releases.
The company just initiated a massive rollout of firmware version 2026.14.6.6, which officially deploys FSD V14.3.3. This milestone build brings the newest features from Tesla’s recent Spring 2026 Software Update to the autonomous driving branch, meaning public demo drives during the events will showcase a more unified, smooth, and confident neural network model. Looking slightly further out, Tesla engineering is already working on FSD version 15, which is slated to introduce a massive 10x parameter upgrade to push the software even closer to true autonomy.
Driving Fleet Awareness
By opening up its showrooms for these festive summer events, Tesla is focusing heavily on grassroots consumer education. Driving a Tesla or experiencing its active safety features firsthand is usually the most effective way to dispel common myths about electric vehicles for skeptics.
With the first wave of the celebration launching next weekend, it will be interesting to see how heavily populated these retail stores become. If you have a friend or family member who has been curious about Tesla’s latest tech or wants to see how the new cabin interface operates in real life, checking out your nearest showroom looks like a great weekend plan.
