On Wednesday, the Diamond League released the full start list for the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athlétisme in Rabat, Morocco, featuring several of Canada’s top sprinters.
Paris 2024 Olympic 4x100m gold medallists Aaron Brown and Andre De Grasse headline the 200m, and Canadian women’s 100m and 200m record holder Audrey Leduc is competing in the women’s 200m. Canadian 400mH record holder, Savannah Sutherland, is listed to make her Diamond League debut in the women’s 400mH.
Stacked men’s 200m field
For the third Diamond League meeting of the season, the men’s 200m features some of the fastest athletes on the planet. De Grasse ran a season’s best 19.84 to win the Botswana Golden Grand Prix in April, with Brown finishing right behind him in 20.07. Both sprinters’ times were their fastest marks since 2023. The two look quick to start the season, and Rabat will be an important test to see how they stack up against the best.

Also entered are 200m Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo of Botswana, the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships 200m bronze medallist Bryan Levell of Jamaica and American Kenneth Bednarek, the 2025 world championship silver medallist.
Canadian women making season debut
Leduc is Canada’s top female sprinter, and her first Diamond League appearance of the season will offer another chance to measure herself against elite international competition. In April, she posted an 11.10 at the Grand Prix–the fastest time by a Canadian so far in 2026. She holds national records of 10.94 in the 100m and 22.36 in the 200m. She is set to face Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson, the 2025 world championship bronze medallist in 200m. Jackson has been on a tear to start the season, already winning two straight 200m Diamond League races (Shaoxing/Keqiao in 22.07 and Xiamen in 21.87).

Sutherland owns both the Canadian and NCAA records in the 400mH at 52.46, but ended her 2025 campaign on a disappointing note after missing the world championship finals. Two world championship finalists will be lining up next to her: Anna Cockrell of the U.S., who just missed the podium in Tokyo, placing fourth, and the event’s bronze medallist, Emma Zapletalová of Slovakia.
Canada’s Lucia Stafford is running in the 1,500m for her season debut, but it is not a Diamond League event.
