Baltimore hardcore outfit End It had some words, and a “prize”, for a concertgoer dressed as a banana during their set in Toronto Friday evening, June 5th. Playing alongside Terror, Pain Of Truth and Start Today, vocalist Akil Godsey called out the costume mid-set and told the crowd the person who tore it up would get the band’s setlist. Things escalated quickly, with people near the front tearing into the outfit and shredding it within seconds.

Footage of the incident is below.

Some asshole wore a banana costume to an End It show in Toronto. The lead singer called the guy up to the stage & then called him an asshole & told everyone to rip his costume off lmao. It took like 30 seconds.

The banana-costumed attendee later posted on Instagram, “Rip suit 3,” suggesting it wasn’t their first banana suit sacrificed at a show.

In a story post the attendee shared the following:

People have been trying to dim my sparkle my entire life. It sucks, but I’m used to it. I’ve surfered hundreds of people in this suit, all genders, all ages, safely. Especially, a lot of first timers that felt safe to approach me for their first surf.

@enditbaltmore two of your band members crossed the line…and I’m obligated to speak on it.

F*ck the police? While, policing what people wear? Take off, hoser.

The message last night; Conform or get called out, exactly the opposite of what Hardcore is supposed to be.

I was an unwilling participant, attacked and clothing removed at the direction of a band I paid to see… What would you do?
