A 37-year-old Ottawa woman has become the second person charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a body in connection with the death of a Clarence-Rockland man in 2025.
The Ontario Provincial Police announced Friday, June 12, that Jessica St. Michael had been arrested a day earlier with the assistance of the Gatineau Police Service.
She remained in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Friday, a police news release said.
On June 4, 51-year-old Luc Décarie of St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Que., was arrested and also charged with first degree murder and indignity to a body.
The investigation began May 17, 2025, when officers from the OPP’s Russell County detachment responded to a report of a body discovered in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street in Clarence-Rockland.
Post mortem examination identified the victim as Robert Prévost, 63, of Clarence-Rockland, who was reported missing in March 2025. His death was ruled a homicide.
The OPP said the investigation was continuing.
