Toronto Show
The Mexican Caribbean continued its commitment to the Canadian travel trade this month through two successful advisor events held in key markets across the country.
The first event took place on June 8 in Toronto at the Venetian Banquet Hall in Vaughan, while the second was hosted in Calgary at the Marriott In-Terminal Hotel. Both events attracted strong participation from the travel advisor community and provided an opportunity to showcase the latest destination developments, tourism offerings, and partner updates from across the Mexican Caribbean.
Dave Cecco, Vice President, Mexican Caribbean went on to thank all of the attendees by saying “There is a reason we’re known as the ‘Vacation Capital of the World’, it is as a result of all of your efforts”

Representatives from hotel associations, resort partners, tour operators, and destination stakeholders travelled from Mexico to meet directly with Canadian travel professionals, reinforcing the importance of Canada as one of the region’s most valuable international markets.
The Toronto event received particularly enthusiastic feedback from attendees, with advisors praising the exceptional food experience, hospitality, networking opportunities, destination presentations, and overall quality of the evening. Similar enthusiasm was evident in Calgary, where advisors welcomed the opportunity to connect one-on-one with supplier partners and learn more about the diverse experiences available throughout the Mexican Caribbean.
Throughout both events, a key focus was placed on educating advisors about the breadth of the destination. Cecco specifically highlights “Having 12 Destinations in 1 (including 3 islands) truly is something no other destination can offer”. From luxury resorts and cultural experiences to adventure travel, weddings, romance, family vacations, and emerging destinations beyond Cancun, advisors were reminded that the Mexican Caribbean offers a wide range of products suited to virtually every Canadian traveller.
An important message delivered during both events was the value of becoming a certified Mexican Caribbean Ambassador through the destination’s e-learning program. Travel advisors were strongly encouraged to register and complete the training in order to deepen their destination knowledge and position themselves for future opportunities.

Advisors who achieve Ambassador status will be among the first to be considered for upcoming familiarization trips, destination experiences, exclusive contests, special promotions, and incentive programs that will be announced in the coming months. As the Mexican Caribbean expands its engagement strategy within Canada, Ambassador graduates will receive priority consideration for many of these initiatives.
Investing in advisor education and destination training is a core component of its Canadian strategy. By equipping advisors with enhanced product knowledge and direct access to destination resources, the Mexican Caribbean aims to strengthen advisor confidence, increase destination sales, and build long-term advocacy within the Canadian travel trade.
