The Edmonton Elks will start three Americans along the offensive line against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday.
Canadian right guard Coulter Woodmansey, who joined the team as a high-priced addition this offseason, has been placed on the six-game injured list after hurting his knee in the opener. Rather than replace him with veteran Mark Korte, who remains on the roster as a backup and boasts 107 career CFL starts, the Elks have activated American rookie Cameron Carter.
The 28-year-old played his college football at Murray State University before catching on with the spring football circuit. He has played for the Michigan Panthers (UFL), Houston Roughnecks (UFL), and the New Jersey Generals (USFL), making 18 starts in 25 games.

The Elks have also lost Global linebacker Eteva Mauga-Clements (clavicle) to the six-game injured list, while American defensive tackle Tomari Fox (elbow) has been placed on the one-game injured list. Canadian Francis Bemiy and Global Richard Jibunor have been added to the defensive line as a result.
The Edmonton Elks (1-0) will host the Montreal Alouettes (2-0) at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 20, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EDT. The Alouettes are coming off an impressive win over the Toronto Argonauts, while the Elks spent Week 2 on bye.
