\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> returned to Canada for the first
\ntime in 2026. Headlining
\nUFC Winnipeg<\/a> was a welterweight clash between former title
\nchallenger Gilbert
\nBurns<\/a> and rising contender Mike Malott<\/a>.
\nThe 12-fight card also featured worthwhile fights in the
\nlightweight, bantamweight and women\u2019s flyweight divisions.<\/p>\n

Here are the matches to make for the UFC Winnipeg main card
\nwinners.<\/p>\n

Malott (14-2-1) picked up the biggest win of his career in the main
\nevent by
\npicking up a TKO finish<\/a> over Burns (22-10) in the third round.
\n“Proper” has now put together four straight victories and deserves
\na genuine contender. Former champion Edwards makes a lot of sense,
\nas it\u2019s a step down for “Rocky,” who is coming off back-to-back
\nlosses to Sean Brady<\/a>
\nand Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> since dropping the belt to Belal
\nMuhammad<\/a> in 2024. This will give Edwards (22-6), who is still
\njust 34, a chance to get his mojo back while also giving Malott an
\nopportunity to elevate himself into the title picture. It\u2019d be a
\ngreat Fight Night main event and one I\u2019d gladly tune into.
\nJourdain extended his win streak to three as he won a hard-fought
\ndecision over Kyler
\nPhillips<\/a>. \u201cAir\u201d is always exciting inside the Octagon, and I\u2019d
\nlike to see Jourdain (18-8-1) test an exciting prospect next. Rosas
\nJr. has quickly become a fan-favorite within the UFC and is
\ncurrently riding a five-fight win streak that includes a decision
\nover Rob
\nFont<\/a>. Just 21, Rosas Jr. (12-1) would be given a solid step up
\nto see if he can take on a skilled bantamweight in his prime and
\nJourdain would have a chance to get into the UFC rankings.<\/p>\n

In a wild round of the year contender, Herbert brawled with
\nMandel
\nNallo<\/a> until he picked up a
\nTKO victory<\/a> in just over two minutes. Herbert (14-6-1) has now
\nwon two of his last three fights inside the UFC and is a reliable
\naction fighter. The 37-year-old is unlikely to go on a title run,
\nbut he can put on some stellar fights so let’s match him up with
\nMcKinney next. “T.Wrecks” is coming off a 24-second TKO over
\nKyle
\nNelson<\/a> and has won three of his last four fights. Both Herbert
\nand McKinney (18-8) always go all out and while this fight won’t
\nlast long, it would be a guaranteed good time.
\nJasudavicius got back into the win column by taking a decision over
\nKarine
\nSilva<\/a>. The Canadian standout has now won six of her last seven
\nfights in the promotion and also holds key wins over Jessica
\nAndrade<\/a> and Mayra
\nBueno Silva<\/a>. A fight against another contender is a certainty,
\nand Blanchfield has also been streaking with 7 of her 8 UFC fights
\nbeing victories. Let’s see if “Cold Blooded” can take out
\nJasudavicius (15-4) or if the 37-year-old can make a late title
\nsurge at the expense of Blanchfield (14-2).
\nYoung came back from a rough first round to win a split decision
\nover Thiago
\nMoises<\/a>. Now 2-1 nside the UFC, Young (11-3) has shown that he
\ncan take on an experienced veteran. \u201cGee Money\u201d is just 25, so I\u2019d
\nlike to see him take on another younger fighter with plenty to
\nprove. Zellhuber fits that bill nicely, as \u201cGolden Boy\u201d desperately
\nneeds a win after dropping decisions to Esteban
\nRibovics<\/a> and Michael
\nJohnson<\/a> and getting knocked out by Bobby Green<\/a>.
\nLet’s see if Zellhuber (15-4) can bounce back or if Young is the
